“ Dosa Happy Hour, such a great way to explore a new dish. I finished it with a Rose Milk. Such a yummy combination. I ordered at the counter and the dosa came out quick and hot! Wether you're a vegetarian or not, this place is a must try! ”
“ Highly recommend!! Food was EXCELLENT! It tasted like the food in Bangalore... ! We ordered Idli vada (Idli was super soft! Vada was crispy and made to perfection!), Mysore masala dosa was TOO good!!! I highly recommend this to everyone.. service was great with friendly and courteous staff .. ambiance was very good with soothing music. Will be back SOON! This place reminds me of home! Keep up the excellent work ”
“ We are so happy to not have to drive to Folsom for this delicious South Indian food. This is as authentic as it gets and their idly is better than what I tried while in India. I recommend the mini tiffin if you want to try for the variety that is offered. We are here once a week ”
“ Ordered though doordash, the food came fast and it was very delicious... wish they they had more description of what sauce is what .. it was good tho. ”
“ Food was delicious.,Definitely recommend this restaurant. Delicious masala dosa, filter coffee and mango lassi. ”
“ For Indian food fans or foodies with an adventurous palate, try Mylapore Roseville. I noticed a big sign advertising $6.99 Dosa Happy Hour 3-7 PM all weekdays, except Tuesday when they're closed. You can pick any dosa! Dine-in deal only. I think every patron inside was Indian except me, so it must be authentic! The entire menu is vegetarian. Not being Indian, I didn't know what most of the menu items were, so you'll have to Google or draw from previous experience. I did get a menu description with terminology, but it wasn't comprehensive. I had trouble understanding the employee's accent as well, so it was hard for me to converse. I ordered a Rava Masala Dosa because I recall liking that rice and wheat flour batter at other restaurants before. The Mylapore Special Dosa is the bestseller and comes with something with tomato and onion if I remember correctly. You get one small scoop of potatoes, but with the sambar (lentil-based soup), spicy tomato chutney, and coconut chutney, you'll have plenty to dip your dosa. I enjoyed the potatoes and sambar the most, probably because they were warm unlike the chilled chutneys. I liked the tomato chutney more than the coconut chutney, which wasn't as flavorful. I was seated at an unwiped table, but perhaps you could ask an employee to wipe it down. There were signs saying to clean up after yourself, but what do you do if the previous customer didn't? It'd be helpful if the restaurant put out paper towels and spray bottles of disinfectant if they really want customers to clean up. I didn't see anyone cleaning tables while I was eating, but when I left, I finally saw one employee starting to clean the tables and floors. The handicap accessible bathrooms were clean. Interesting experience. Fun, exotic finger food. In the future, I'd be curious to try these dishes: - Bisi Bele Bath (spicy rice dish with lentils and vegetables) - Vegetable Uthappam (thick South Indian breakfast pancake) - Paratha Kurma (flatbread) - Poori (deep fried round puffs of bread) with either Channa (chickpeas) or Kurma (a.k.a. Korma) Mylapore Roseville is located on Pleasant Grove Blvd by Fairway Drive in the same plaza with Nugget. ”
“ Delicious, authentic, beautiful South Indian food! Got the masala dosa and loved the whole thing. The mango lassi was perfectly balanced between sweet and sharp. The vada was to die for. The uttapam was also excellent! I would pay SO much money to eat food like this. But lucky for me, Mylapore is extraordinarily affordable. Receiving this quality of food at this price is a rare blessing. Highly recommend, but try to visit after 3pm so you can have the golgappa too! ”
“ CHETTINAD SPECIAL this was one of the best veg Indian meals I have ever had... the variety is new to me. Never have seen this in a US Indian restaurant. These aren't cost reduced versions of dishes designed to maximize profitability. This comes from passion. I can only report on 10% or less of the subtle nuances in the dishes. Very good. Delicious. Superior to any vegetarian menu in any Indian restaurant in the bay area. Looks like home style cooking. Because they don't pay rent locally they can put more money into the food. VELLAI KURUMA (Cauliflower, carrot, green beans, peas in a mild white gravy): Coconut based. Cooling coconut and spicy at the same time. There is information on the internet on this dish. Fantastic experience. KAI KARI MANDI (Melange of over ten different vegetables more like a ratatouille): I think there were pieces of tindora in here. Superior to any ragout in every way. Spicy, sour and smooth. Like a super sambar. So good. Never made it to the oven/microwave. Couldn't stop eating it cold from the container. Has drumsticks in it. Very tender. Didn't taste frozen. MURUNGAI KEERAI RASAM (Rasam made with Moringa Leaves): Looked like baby moringa leaves. Smoky, hard to explain. Unique flavor, little sour maybe from tamarind. PACHAI PAYIRU MASIYAL (Mashed Green Moong cooked with Onions, garlic and Spices). POTATO MILAGU PIRATTAL (Baby potatoes stir fried with black pepper): Unique masala, spicy, dont know how to describe the flavor profile. Very good. Inhaled this. Ate half of this in one sitting. Rest was gone before the day was over. PATHIYA KUZAMBU (Yellow pumpkin, dry ginger, black pepper, curry leaves): wow very good. never had a Kuzambu before. need to explore more here. CHETTINADU BIRYANI: never seen a biryani like this. Some short grain rice that isn't sticky. Closest thing I have had to this is the Vietnamese broken rice. Tender rice vs. the slightly hard texture of the mushrooms. The mushrooms dont look like there were just thrown into the rice to cook. Maybe they were slightly dehydrated first? Some secrets here. KAVUNI PAYASAM (Black rice Kheer): new, delicious. Gingery. ”
“ Food cane packed early morning as promised. The box was sealed and there were ice packs inside to keep the food cold and fresh. Ordered Medium Friday Meal which has 4 entrees. Got a bonus entree from them for free. Have tried 2 entrees, paneer and Panchranga dal and both tasted really good. Definitely recommend ordering from here. ”
“ Ordered a medium box ($60) from Mylapore Express last week. 1) Excellent customer service (I had a few questions prior to ordering and Jay answered each question via a phonecall explaining everything) 2) Food was delievered at 8am at doorstep! Packaging was great, and there was even a bonus container included, so that was a pleasant surprise. 3) Coming to the food: I ordered Mullangi Sambar, Aloo Baingan, Okra Puli Kuzhambu and Kurma for parota. Udupi Rasam was given for free as a bonus. Everyone has their own taste preferences. For example, my husband loved the sambar, but I didn't. It's a different kind of sambar (arachuvitta sambar type which I am not used to/not a fan of). I loveeeddd the udupi rasam, my husband didn't. Other than that, Aloo Baingan, Kurma and Puli Kuzhambu were all great and equally liked by both of us. So point is, food is good, tastes like homemade food, it doesn't have a crazy amt of oil and stuff. IF you know how/what mylapore cooking is and like it, this would be a hit for you.. I don't, so 1 or 2 items were a miss for me. We ended up eating around 4 meals (2 lunches and 2 dinners) with whatever we received. So in that case, I would say the price is worth it. 4) The best part about all this? I was so relaxed for 3 to 4 days. I didn't spend my time planning what to cook/standing in the kitchen and it felt so good for a few days. For that feeling, i would order again. ”
